Adult Day Program


Purpose

The Adult Day Centre provides a variety of therapeutic programs and services. We assist individuals who require support because of health related issues. This reduces isolation and enables our seniors to maintain their independence.

Staffing Services

Our Adult Day Centre provides administrative staff, a nursing professional, activity workers and a cook. Health care and support services include a therapeutic exercise program, foot care, dementia support, medication management/review, health monitoring, caregiver support/education, and wellness education. Services also include hot lunch service (take-out frozen meals are available) and a broad range of recreational opportunities.

Participant Information

All participants in the program can be self referred or be referred by a case manager at the Community Health Unit.

Program Hours of Operation

Monday to Friday, 10:00 am to 2:00 pm.

Community Seniors Program


Purpose

The community seniors program provides a coordinated service to seniors that facilitates their participation in a luncheon and activity programs. The program incorporates socialization, education, recreation for isolated seniors and enhances independent living skills for the seniors in our community.

Staffing and Services

Our centre provides professional administrative staff, activity workers, and a cook. Health related and support services include a therapeutic exercise program, foot care and podiatry, health monitoring, caregiver support education, wellness education, hot meal services (frozen meals are also available for takeout), community awareness, transportation, and a broad range of recreational opportunities.

Participant Information

A referral from a health professional is not required – just drop in.

Program Hours of Operation

Tuesday, 3:00pm to 6:00 pm and Saturday 10:00 am to 2:00 pm.

Caregiver Support and Information


Purpose

The Caregiver Support and Information group provides an opportunity to connect with other caregivers, learn new skills, share ideas, locate community resources, deal with challenges and assist with care planning.

A Family Caregiver is a family member or friend who provides unpaid support and care for a loved one who is frail, elderly, or has a long term or palliative illness. Family care giving takes place anywhere, from home to a care facility.
